BlackBerry Self Test

A nice “hidden” feature of BlackBerry phones is the ability to run a self test application to diagnose usability issues. You can test most of the functions on the phone from the keyboard, trackball, screen, vibrate mechanism, gps and much more.
To get to this testing area navigate to the Options page and select Status.
Once you have opened the Status page type the word: test. *Nothing will show up on the screen as you are typing.
Select the Start from the menu to bring up the test configuration screens to select which items you want to test.
Once all of the tests you want to run have been checked select Run. You will then be guided through the testing process. After you have run the tests it will keep a log of previous attempts at running the Device Self Test Application and show you the date/time of each test.
If you highlight the test and select View from the menu it will show you a report of what each test status was.
As you can see with the test above this was ran on a BlackBerry 8330 and that the tests that I selected passed.
